The design of the concept is as purposeful and user-friendly as you could wish for, since all the parameters of the individual components of the concept are carefully set at the factory.

The core of the running gear body consists of medium-density wood fiber or layers of solid wood compressed under high pressure. The look of the coat is produced in four different colors and structures to match. The top layer of the drive consists of a special satin-finished plastic. This composition makes it possible to minimize resonances.

The turntable is driven by a completely decoupled DC motor via a ground flat belt to avoid the transmission of noise. The power supply for this takes over a generously dimensioned, highly stable external power supply unit.

The tonearm has a wear and maintenance-free magnetic bearing without friction. The combination is completed with the high-quality Clearaudio MM and MC concept pickups (upgrades are possible at any time).

Clearaudio’s vision for the concept: design an elegantly styled turntable package featuring a level of groundbreaking technology usually only found in high-end turntables, combining plug-and-play simplicity with outstanding sound quality and affordability.Beneath the sleek, contemporary exterior is a level of technical sophistication unique to Clearaudio.The concept’s body is carefully crafted from medium-density wood fiber (or, optionally, pressure-formed solid wood) with a selection of smart made-to-match surface finishes. The body’s upper layer incorporates a special high-tech stained plastic compound designed to minimise unwanted resonance.The DC motor is fed by an external voltage-stabilized power supply and is completely decoupled from the turntable’s body to ensure no mechanical interference.
The concept tonearm features a magnetic bearing that is friction-free for extremely low distortion and superb performance. The package is completed with the high-quality Concept MM or Concept MC cartridge.Innovative, high-performing, user-friendly and affordable. Now that’s what we call an unbeatable concept.

The Concept turntable sets a new standard in turntable manufacturing. Precision German engineering combined with the latest technology and timeless design signal a new era in analog playback. The Concept is equipped with the innovative Concept tonearm (formerly known as the Verify tonearm; no change other than name), which features a friction-free magnetic bearing technology. A high-quality Clearaudio moving magnet (Concept MM) or moving coil (Concept MC) cartridge can be pre-mounted and factory-adjusted to complete this setup. The Concept is belt-driven by a low-noise, decoupled DC motor built into the resonant-optimized plinth, “… resulting in an attractive, small-footprint design that doesn’t require the buyer to find a place for an outboard motor—or even a motor placed in a hole in the plinth!” (Michael Fremer, Stereophile, June 2011). The platter is made of 30mm-thick polyoxymethylene (POM), an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. The Concept plays at three speeds – 33rpm, 45rpm, and 78rpm – selectable by Electronic Speed Control knob.
